Description
Allington House is a large detached building at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It was built at the end of the 19th century and is surrounded by a garden with hedges and trees at the edge making it very private, it is set back from the road with a car park and grass area to the front. Despite this it is only a few minutes walk from Bournemouth town centre and the beach; it is also close to both the main train and coach station. It is arranged on three floors, the ground floor has the communal areas, the lounge and dining room, the kitchen and laundry facilities, a quiet / counselling room, two offices, the staff bedroom, a bathroom, a toilet, and four bedrooms. All the bedrooms have their own sink facilities and are all single rooms.
On the first floor there are nine bedrooms, three of these are double rooms, all have their own sink facilities. There are two bathrooms, an extra toilet and a quiet / counselling room.
The second floor has two offices and an extra shower and toilet.
Program
Allington House provides a primary treatment program; it is expected to last for 12 weeks. The process a client will become involved in, whilst at Allington House will start with an assessment period, this will help clarify the nature of a persons problem, both for the client and the staff team and give an opportunity to look at realistic goals and the creation of a tailor-made treatment plan designed to meet the specific needs presented.
Also, should a client wish, there is an introduction to the 12-step program and groups, these can help with the maintenance of recovery.
On graduation from Allington a client will have a better understanding of themselves and their past relationship with substances. There will be an opportunity to look at and consider a realistic ongoing treatment plan, with referral to secondary care, based on individual need.
