Karingal Farm is situated about 7kms from Karobran. Karingal recently underwent a huge renovation. The Kitchen Facility, Toilet/Shower Block and the Staff house all had major work. The rest of the facilities also had maintenance and repairs. Karingal was reopened in November 2006.

Work Program

A major component of Karobran’s program is the work training component, which students are required to participate in. This is subject to the abilities of each individual student.

Karobran offer a paid work program, this entails mainly Vineyard Work, with a team of workers going out to work together. Sometimes there is also some other types of work available, they can range from Painting to general labouring work.

Karobran also has an unpaid work program and students are required to work when rostered onto this. This entails the kitchen roster, firewood collection, general duties around the farm and/or any other work that is required.

The work program at Karobran is designed to help the student regain a work ethic, self esteem, and the necessary skills that will be required to re-enter society.

Over the past two years Karobran has been able to offer two ‘Work for the Dole’ Programs. These involved the building of the Teaching Centre, and a complete renovation of Karingal Farm. The students were able to work on these projects, learning new skills as they worked alongside many different Tradesmen. While the students participated in these programs they were able to gain training credits, which can later be used for education or licences, etc. Karobran hopes to be able to offer more of these programs in the future.

Karobran is always keen to find new work challenges and options are kept open for all kinds of different work programs to become available.

Study Program

Karobran New Life Centre offers a range of Subjects that are compulsory for the Students to complete.

These Range from subjects like:

7 Pillars of Wisdom
Overcoming Temptation
Failure
Anger and Personal Rights
Live and Accepting Myself
10 Steps to recovery
Living Free
Boundaries
Etc.

Karobran teaches these subjects to equip the students with the necessary knowledge to survive once back in society. One of the goals of the Directors and Staff at Karobran is to teach the students how to live their lives with out the need of drugs or alcohol so the educational aspect of Karobran is a Vital Element in the Rehabilitation of a student.

Students are rostered onto the classes weekly and are balanced with the work Program so that the students can both work and receive the educational value as well.

All the classes are based on principals and teaching from the Bible.

About Us

Karobran New Life centre consists of two Farms. Karobran houses Families and Single Men and Karingal houses the Single Women.

Karobran New Life Centre has a Mandate to help those that are suffering under the slavery of addiction and bondage to life-controlling problems, it is the aim of the centre staff to help the student (client) to break free from addictive lifestyles and to become active in life and living, and to enable the student to make a positive contribution to society. (Rehabilitation).

Karobran New Life Centre is active in helping students restore their relationships with God through Prayer, Counselling, the Word of God, and Church (Restoration).

Karobran New Life Centre desires to bring anyone who desires to know God into relationship with him. (Evangelism).

Karobran offers a combination of both a work program and a study program both of which are outlined on their respective pages.

Karobran New Life Centres is affiliated with the AOG Church. Church is held at Karobran farm on Wednesday evenings and twice on Sundays.
