Unique in its approach, Paradise Recovery's treatment focuses on your individual core issues which often serve to maintain your cycle of addiction. Healing of core issues occurs through multiple intensive psychotherapy sessions per week with highly credentialed clinicians. In addition to looking at core issues, your individualized treatment will address unhealthy repetitions and thinking patterns which, in the past, have resulted in self-destruction and relapse. The 12-Steps and rational approaches have proven integral to many people's recovery and, as such, are integrated into our programming. Group work occurs in small, effective and private settings. These treatment elements are uniquely blended, along with spa elements and ecologically-based adventure tours throughout the Hawaiian Islands, to affect significant and lasting change, putting you on the path of sustained recovery!

Program

It is our belief that healing occurs when an individual takes the time to rediscover core values and beliefs, venture forward with revitalized practices, and re-emerge with a new found integrated self that had always been present but not yet realized.
Paradise Recovery provides the highest caliber of programming to assist our clients with the necessary skills for sustained recovery. We have designed a program that combines state-of-the-art traditional and complimentary therapeutic interventions.

Medically-monitored detox

We provide a safe and medically supervised detox treatment. Your detox is situated in a lovely poolside suite with ocean views and calming soft breezes rustling through the leaves of the palm trees just outside your window. Our physicians, nurses, acupuncturist, therapists and dietician will attend to you and ensure the initial phase of treatment is comfortable and as symptom-free as possible.

Our Five Phase Treatment

Paradise Recovery subscribes to the 12-Steps of Recovery. We also work with individuals who have interests in other non-traditional forms of recovery (Hawaiian spiritual work, Virtue work, etc.). Our treatment program helps move the client from an aimless, demoralized state of being to a more conscious, insightful, socially sensitive, cognitively and emotionally aware person – "human flourishing!"
Each phase lasts from two to three weeks. Some of the elements addressed in the Five Phases are: family of origin work, identifying and changing thought patterns and core beliefs that maintain the addictive or unhealthy behaviors, family and couple therapy, relapse prevention strategies, aftercare preparation and implementation of a recommended monitoring program. Much of this work is accomplished by intensive individual psychotherapy and medical interventions, provided by our well experienced physicians and therapists.

Personal Fitness Goals

You will receive a certified personal trainer who will help to identify your personal fitness goals and support you in attaining those goals while you are at Paradise Recovery. Your progress is measured and monitored. Pilates and Qi Gong offer unique and valuable movement therapies that improve physical health and mental well-being. Our Fitness Center is equipped with the latest cardio and strength building machines.

Spa Elements

Paradise Recovery has the belief that recovery takes place from the "inside out" as well as from the "outside in"! Therefore, we offer spa elements to assist our clients with relaxation, flexibility, beauty and a sense of calm. Some of the services offered are: massage, facials, hair styling, manicures/pedicures, scented whirlpool baths and beauty consultations.

Hawaiian Elements

A Hawaiian kupuna, a wise elder, works with clients and teaches them ancient Hawaiian values and health practices. Some of you will want to receive a Hawaiian blessing from the kupuna! Our kupuna has indicated that the location of our home, between Diamond Head and Koko Head, the "life-blood" of the island of Oahu is uniquely situated in a well-regarded place of healing, according to the ancient Hawaiians. We take full advantage of the location and unique healing properties of the "aina" or Hawaiian land. We work closely with Hawaiian organic farmers in providing the best organically grown fruits and vegetables from Hawaii.
Therapeutically, we incorporate a Hawaiian family therapy technique called, “ho’oponopono,” or “making things right" in select cases, along with traditional family therapy.

Post-treatment Monitoring Program

Paradise Recovery supports the current thinking and research that a monitoring program initiated post-treatment enhances the potential for a sustained recovery. Borrowed from a program designed for pilots and physicians, Paradise Recovery introduces you to monitoring programs that will assist you with your re-entry to home, work and social spheres of your life. The montoring begins immediately upon discharge from our program. All our clients are encouraged to enroll in one of several programs.
